Lucas Fontbonne Brayner - Expert piano instructor 

Lucas holds a master’s degree in music (piano performance) and is recognized as an advanced, inspiring, and experienced piano instructor. His musical journey commenced in Montpellier, France, under the tutelage of esteemed teachers Jean-Paul Marron and Yves Gidrol.

 

Continuing his quest for musical excellence, Lucas enriched his knowledge with guidance from instructors such as Geneide Moura, Arthur Tenório, Miguel Iago, Andréia da Costa Carvalho, and Edson Bandeira de Mello. In 2013, he furthered his education at UFPE, studying under the mentorship of Heloisa de Almeida Maibrada and Antonio Nigro.

Lucas actively engaged in Masterclasses led by renowned figures in the music world, including Yu Kosuge (Japan), David Korevaar (USA), Mônica Kato (Switzerland), Jamie Gurt (USA), Vincente Della Tonia (USA), José Henrique Martins (UFPB), and Regiane Yamaguchi (Brazil), among others. In 2018, he expanded his horizons by participating in classes and Masterclasses with esteemed teachers such as Laurent Cabasso (Lyon Conservatory, France), Edda Erlendsdóttir (Reykjavík, Iceland), and Michaël Guido (Versailles Conservatory, France).

A significant milestone in Lucas's career is his victory in the 28th Ituiutaba National Piano Competition "Prof. Abrão Calil Neto" in the 4-hand piano category, a collaborative feat alongside his wife Nayane Nogueira.

With over a decade of experience, Lucas has proven to be an inspiring and dedicated piano and music theory instructor. He served as a professor in the UFPE extension program, actively contributing to the Piano Criativo and Musisermusic projects coordinated by Professor Heloisa Maibrada. Additionally, Lucas has a background as an accompanist for University Choirs from 2013 to 2018.

Currently, Lucas is pursuing a Ph.D. at the University of Illinois in Chicago, under the guidance of advisor Alex Demos. His academic and performance background, enriched by international experiences and accolades, attests to his unwavering dedication and passion for piano and music education. As an advanced instructor, Lucas continues to inspire and nurture the next generation of musicians with his wealth of knowledge and expertise.
